the art of working with heart

So yesterday we talked about faith: where everything begins.

But nothing happens without movement. You can pray all day long, but if you never put your feet on the ground, nothing changes because faith without work is a non-starter.

And let’s be honest, work is such a loaded word, right? Know that I do not mean work in the sense of hyper-hustle and grind culture that leads straightaway to exhaustion and burnout.

Welcome to Day 5, Love.
Today’s theme is Work — as in:
Purpose. Calling. Meaningful contribution.
Energy that makes an impact.
Alignment that feels like exhale.

We need work that lights us up and allows us to pour something good into the world.
Work that can shift the atmosphere when you enter the room.
Work that brings forth your best, and in doing so, challenges, inspires, and brings forth the best in others.

In Wake Pray Slay, Day 5 reminds us that work is not just what you do — it’s about who you become while doing it.

When you show up with intention, creativity, compassion, and good energy, you don’t just complete tasks — you move mountains. You create ripples. You become part of the good this world so desperately needs.

Work that flows from purpose touches everything: your relationships, projects, the way you lead, your home, and ultimately your community.

So ask yourself today:

  • Where can I bring more heart into the work I do?

  • What part of my purpose desires my attention right now?

  • Am I pouring good energy into the world through my work?

Remember — this isn’t about perfection.
It’s about alignment.

You are not here to simply “do a job.”
You are here to shift the world in ways both small and large through the work you offer.

And honestly? Your work, when infused with purpose, is part of your ministry… whether you ever stand in a pulpit or not.

Work with intention today. Hold space for your contribution to be part of the world’s healing.

Put simply: when you do what you were born to do — with heart, with intention, with love — your work becomes a blessing.

You don’t have to change the world today.
You just need to play your part to the fullest — and trust that your part, no matter how large or small, matters.

This reflection, inspired by my 21-day devotional Wake Pray Slay, is an invitation to slow down, tune in, and align more fully with your highest and best self. These posts pair with the book (and the companion guide) to help you build a rhythm of faith, healthy mindset, and personal leadership that’s gentle, grounded, and transformational.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. If you don’t have your copy of the book yet, you can grab it here.

You can also revisit Days 1-4 if you’re joining us mid-series.

And tomorrow?
We enter Day 6 — forgiveness. A tender, challenging, necessary layer.
Come back for new insights, new softness, and the shift that only forgiveness can bring.
