slay {the doxology way}
We’ve arrived to Day 21: Slay
But this is not about dominance.
It’s about devotion.
To slay is not to destroy others.
It is to bring your full self to the work you are called to do — with integrity, intention, and heart.
To teach with care.
To heal with humility. To mother with presence.
To build, grow, tend, lead, or rest.
Whatever you are doing — slay means to do it well.
Not for approval.
Not for applause.
But because your life carries purpose — and that purpose deserves your very best.
Over these last 21 days, we’ve been clearing, softening, releasing, discerning, resting, and becoming. This final day is not about striving harder. It’s about walking forward differently.
More Rooted.
Wide Awake.
Truly Free.
There is a temptation, especially in times like these, to turn our power outward in the wrong direction — to slay others instead of tending our own corner of the world. To exhaust ourselves fighting battles that aren’t ours, instead of pouring energy into the work that actually heals.
But true power is disciplined.
And focused.
Because true power knows where it belongs.
And now I want to share something deeply personal.
The first time I heard The Doxology, I was in a season of real danger. I was living inside an abusive situation — one that felt hopeless, terrifying, and inescapable. I didn’t have language for what I was experiencing.
I only knew that situations like these often ended in death — and I was trying to survive.
And right in the middle of that horrifying reality, I heard that song for the first time. It pierced straight through me.
Past fear. Beyond logic. Deeper than despair.
It went directly to my soul.
At the time, I didn’t know what to call it.
But I do now.
It was holy.
A doxology moment — praise breaking through terror. Light shining in the dead of night.
Light found me in a place where I could not have found it on my own.
That’s the kind of power this journey has been preparing us for.
Power that creates.
Restores.
Chooses good — even when evil is hollering real loud.
May we all recognize our doxology moments when they come — moments that guide us toward healing, restoration, and freedom.
You were not made to disappear.
You were not made to withhold your gifts.
You were not made to dim your light.
You were made to live fully awake, do your work well, and bless the world by being fully who you are.
